 | | | | | | | | Simple Act of Caring
At Cedar Village more than 200 caring volunteers open their hearts to make a positive difference to the seniors we serve. The rewards of volunteerism are many, but none is as great as the knowledge that you can and do enhance the lives of those we serve. Volunteers are an integral part of our team, sharing in our commitment to caring for those we serve with the dignity and respect that they deserve.
Volunteering is a simple act of caring – and your commitment can really make a difference.
How To Join Our Volunteer Team
Anyone age 12 years and older is welcome to join our team of dedicated and caring volunteers. Our commitment is to match interests and experience with necessary volunteer roles. We also encourage our volunteers to set their own schedules – days or nights – a few hours per week – maybe just an hour or two per month. Whatever you can do means so much!
You may print out our application online or pick one up at the main desk at Cedar Village. Once we receive your completed application, we will meet with you, explore your interests and come up with a meaningful volunteer role that works with your schedule.
At Cedar Village, volunteers go through an orientation, and receive on-the-job training and supervision. Volunteers receive a complimentary lunch when working four hours or more in one day.
Cedar Village Junior Volunteer Program
Students 12 years of age and up can volunteer during the school year or the summer. The seniors for whom we care love to interact and work with young people from our community and what a wonderful way for students to learn about the field of senior care – and make a difference!
The Cedar Village Junior Volunteer Program is open to students who are required to fulfill their community service hours for high school. Middle School students (at least 12 years of age) with a strong desire to volunteer in the health care field can also participate in the Junior Volunteer Program.
Students preparing for their Bar or Bat Mitzvah are encouraged to fulfill their Mitzvah requirements at Cedar Village and we will work with you to find the best fit. A letter of recommendation is required from the Rabbi for this program.
